Kiwi incurs wrath
NZPA-AAP Sydney New Zealand’s Paul Kingsman incurred the wrath of officials when he was disqualified for an incorrect touch in the 200 m backstroke in the Australian winter championships.
Kingsman was ruled not to have touched the wall with his full hand at the 150 m mark.
Fellow Kiwi Phillipa Langrell had better luck, however, taking out the 200 m butterfly in 2min 19.33 s at the Warringah Aquatic Centre. Langrell beat the Olympic team member Fiona Alessandri (2min 19.455) and Suzanne Collinson (2min 19.675).
