Date set for Crowe auction

Goats owned by Crowe Corporation (in receivership) go under the hammer at auction on August 18. Pyne, Gould, Guiness will auction 3070 goats from Crowe’s New Zealand flock at Eyrewell Farm, Eyreton, near Christchurch, on behalf of the receivers, Price Waterhouse.

Mr Paul O’Grady, of Price Waterhouse’s insolvency section in Christchurch, said that the receivers also had someone from the accounting company’s office in Scotland to oversee matters about Crowe’s goats in the United Kingdom.

Price Waterhouse was also represented by agents in the United Kingdom to ensure that there was an orderly sale of the goats in Scotland, he said.

The National Bank, which held a floating debenture over Crowe, called in the receivers on July 21.
