Second ferry disaster

NZPA-Reuter Peking Seventy-one people are feared drowned after a ferry capsized in southwest China yesterday, the area’s second such disaster in five days. The official New China News Agency said the ferry collided with a barge on the upper reaches of the Yangtse River in Sichuan province and only 25 passengers were rescued. Last Thursday 178 people, died when a ferry sank in the Minjiang River, a tributary of the Yangtse also in Sichuan province.■
