Jackson double stops London traffic

NZPA-Reuter London A Michael Jackson look-alike drew frenzied crowds and caused traffic jams in the central London district of Soho, but his pose as the American rock superstar got a critical review in court. Ronnie Beharry, aged 23, admitted disturbing the peace and was ordered to pay £lOO (SNZ2SB) as a guarantee of good behaviour for six months. A policeman told a London court that Beharry was mobbed by people as he stood on a street corner wearing a copy of one of Jackson’s soldier outfits. He also held a tissue to his mouth in imitation of the singer, who is in Britain on a two-month concert tour, police constable Michael Rawlings testified. “I heard people shouting “Michael!’ On seeing him I found he was a passable look-alike of Michael Jackson,” he said. Beharry, dressed in his soldier’s uniform, told reporters outside the court that he. would not change his image.
