Positive cocaine swab
NZPA-AAP Brisbane
Blue On Red, which finished second in a novice handicap at Eagle Farm on June 25, has returned a swab positive to cocaine.
A report in the “Courier-Mail” says Queensland Turf Club stewards have received a report from the Government Chemical Laboratory which alleged the presence of cocaine in the pure form as well as its metabolites, benzoylecgonine, methylecgonine and ecgonine in Blue On Red’s swab.
The report says the stewards expected to open an inquiry yesterday into the swab and had called Queensland’s leading trainer Bruce McLachlan, who prepares Blue On Red at his Thornhill Park training complex near Cabooiture.
