Notice is hereby given of the 12th Annual General Meeting to be held at the Conway Street Rooms. 120 Conway St. on Tuesday, August 2, 1988, commencing at 8 p.m. Everyone welcome. OXFORD COUNTY COUNCIL MAKING AND LEVYING OF RATES 1988/89 THIS REPLACES PREVIOUS NOTICE ISSUED ON JULY 11, 1988. THAT Public Notice be given pursuant to Sections 52 and 66 of the Rating Act 1967 that it is the intention of the Oxford County Council at a meeting to be held at the Council Chambers on Monday, August 1, 1988, at 10.00 a.m. to make and levy the undermentioned rates for the period April 1, 1988 to March 31,1989 upon the Capital Value of all rateable properties as are shown in the Valuation rolls now in force in the County of Oxford, such rates to comprise: (1) Uniform Annual General Charge pursuant to Section 157 of the Local Government Act 1974. A Uniform Annual General charge of $60.00 per separately rateable property will be levied. (2) General Rates — pursuant to Sections 136 and 147 of the Local Government Act 1974, the Rating Act 1967 and any amendments thereto: Rural Areas: 0.4838 of a cent In the dollar on Capital Value. Industrial and Commercial: 0.5605 of a cent in the dollar on Capital Value. Township: 0.4181 of a cent in the dollar on Capital Value. (3) A Water charge being a Uniform Annual Charge pursuant to Section 158 of the Local Government Act 1974 of $93.50 for the ordinary supply of water within the Oxford Township Water Supply area and restricted supplies outside the Oxford Township Water Supply area Provided that the Uniform Annual Charge payable In respect of lands and dwelling houses to which water can be, but is not supplied, within 100 metres from any part of the Water works shall be $46.75 per annum. And further provided that the Uniform Annual Charge in respect to all supplies metered by a restrictor within the Oxford Township Water Supply area shall be $68.20 per annum. And further provided that in respect to metered supplies, the first 300,000 litres shall be at $93.50 and thereafter $93.50 per lots of 300,000 litres. (4) A Water charge being a Uniform Annual Charge pursuant to Section 158 of the Local Government Act 1974 of $42.37 per unit of 1000 litres on all properties within the Oxford No. 2 Rural Water Supply area. (5) A Water Charge being a Uniform Annual Charge pursuant to Section 158 of the Local Government Act 1974 of $79.20 per unit of 1000 litres on all properties within the Oxford No. 1 Rural Water Supply area. (6) Refuse Charges being Uniform Annual Charges pursuant to Section 163 of the Local Government Act 1974 of $22.00 for Refuse Collection in respect to all dwelling houses and $44.00 per business premises sltu- ■ ated within the Oxford Township Water Supply area. (7) A Household Levy being an Annual Fee, pursuant to Sections 601 and 610 of the Local Government Act 1974 of $ll.OO levied on each dwelling unit situated within the Oxford County boundaries for the purpose of meeting the loan charges and/or other costs related to the Communities share of the General Purpose Hall at the Oxford Area School. (8) North Canterbury Catchment Board Rates: Such rates as the Oxford County shall be directed to collect on the Board's behalf. (9) Ashley Pest Destruction Board: Such rates as the Oxford County shall be directed to collect on the Board’s behalf. That pursuant to Section 86A of the Rating Act 1967, all the foregoing rates and levies shall be payable in three instalments due and payable on May 1, 1988, September 1, 1988 and January 1,1989, to the County Clerk at the Council Offices, Main Street, Oxford. (PO Box 9). That pursuant to Section 71 of the Rating Act 1967 a penalty of ten per centum (10 per cent) will be added to the rates due on the first instalment not paid on or before June 15, 1988, and to those rates payable on the second instalment not paid on or before October 15, 1988, and to those rates payable on the third instalment not paid on or before February 15, 1989. That pursuant to Section 52 of the Rating Act 1967 notice is given that the Valuation Rolls are open for public inspection at the Council Offices, Main Street, Oxford, during normal office hours, 8.30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday to Friday. Public Notice is also given pursuant to Section 121(3) of the Local Government Act 1974 that the 1988/89 Estimates of Receipts and Payments of the Oxford County Council are available for Public Inspection at the Council Offices.
