LAN security
Digital has developed a security package for local area networks. Digital Ethernet Security Network Control, with Key Distribution Centre Software, encrypts data within a network. This allows system administrators to limit access to certain processors and applications. The package also has a monitor which identifies irregularities that might mean an intruder is probing the network. Digital’s New Zealand software services manager, Mr Pat McLean, says DESNC will be available in New Zealand later this year, subject to export approval by the United States State Department.
