Two Cook Islands guest players with the New Zealand Army Band, Staff Sergeant Godden Kiko (left) and Corporal John Ta’aru, wearing the medals which were presented to them in a special function at Burnham Military Camp in commemoration of the Solomon Islands tenth independence anniversary. Sergeant Kiko and Corporal Ta’aru are spending a year with the band and will return home in December. They will travel with the band when it tours Australia later this year as part of the Australian bicentennial celebrations. The band will be away from August 1 to mid-October.
