Body found in flat
PA Wellington The body of a woman may have lain in her Hutt Valley pensioner flat for almost five weeks before she was discovered. She was Eleanor Ada Sawyer, aged 80. The body of Miss Sawyer was found on Wednesday morning by a Lower Hutt City Council worker who had called to see her and became con-
cerned when there was no response from the flat. Police and relatives were alerted and a locksmith was called in to break open the door. Senior-Sergeant John Kelly said letters delivered and left unopened dated to the end of April, and a newspaper to April 22. A relative of Miss Sawyer said she had called at the address recently and had thought Miss Sawyer was away.
