Open week-end activities
From 9 a.m. until 12 noon tomorrow the public will have an opportunity to have a look around th.e Cashmere Club and see all the facilities. A smorgasbord lunch from 12 noon until 2.30 p.m. at a cost of $12.50 per head will follow, with entertainment by Pat Kearns. That evening “The Modernaires,” a rock and
roll type group will be playing in the main lounge. On Saturday, June 18, the second open day at the Cashmere Club starts at 9 a.m. with a garden group. Afternoon tea will be available from 3 p.m. until 6 p.m. with entertainment by Rhys Warner. From 8 p.m. until midnight the “Notations” dance band will be play-
ing in the main lounge. A family day for the public will be held at the Cashmere Club from 1 p.m. until 5.30 p.m. All groups within the Cashmere Club will be showing visitors their particular interest, including card games, chess and Mah Jong in the Heathcote Room, and badminton, bowls, table tennis, squash, pool and golf driv-
ing. The library will also be open. A sausage sizzle from 1.30 p.m. until 5.30 p.m. will also feature entertainment by “Cochise” and there will be a display by the "Christchurch Original Rock and Roll" club. On Monday, June 20, the Cashmere Club will again be open to visitors.
