Westmex buy
Australian investment company, Westmex, Ltd, is moving into the newsagency business with the purchase of Associated Newsagents Cooperative, Ltd, (ANCOL), which had been put into receivership. Chairman Russell Goward said Westmex had acquired all the businesses of ANCOL and its subsidiaries, including freehold property, plant and equipment and stock, for sAustl4.7 million (SNZI6.7SM). It also bought the ANCOL trade mark in all Australian states for a further sAustlo9,ooo ($NZ114,000).
