Racers for pet meat

PA Auckland A meat export company which has been buying thoroughbred horses for slaughter says it will bid for bloodstock at a Clevedon sale on Monday. The Paramount Export Company, in Te Kauwhata, has been a regular buyer at thoroughbred and standardbred sales recently and it says it will continue its hunt for horses.

“We’ll just have to convince the legitimate purchaser that the horses are worth more than he is prepared to pay for them.
