Calligraphers form society
The New Zealand Society of Calligraphers has been formed in Christchurch.
An introductory subscription has been set at $lO. Once the society has become established;' an annual subscription will be struck.
Membership is sought from those involved in calligraphy and the graphic arts professionally, and people with a general interest in fine lettering and handwriting.
The society intends, as part of its activities, to
produce a magazine containing local and international news and information on forthcoming events, to organise workshops, to arrange visits by overseas and local professionals, and to hold master classes.
Prospective members can get in touch with the secretary at P.O. Box 22793, High Street, Christchurch. They should provide an address, a telephone number and a brief resume of their interests, and say what they would expect to gain from an association with the society.
