Flagging idea scrapped
The Christchurch Transport Board has scrapped its idea of allowing passengers to flag down buses on a Sunday.
A survey of 172 bus operators showed 82 per cent against the idea and
17 per cent in favour. The most common comment was that operators already stopped when it was obvious that someone wanted the bus and it was safe to stop, said the deputy general manager, Mr Tony Francis.
