Police thwart burglar

An enterprising burglar at the Belfast Energy Centre had his plans thwarted by a passing police patrol late yesterday afternoon. The passing patrol noticed his actions about 5 p.m. and chased the offender on foot from the premises. The police chased the man across several sections but lost him. A man, aged 31, was found in the area a short time later by another patrol.

He was arrested on a charge of burgling the service station and will appear in the District Court today.
