Wairoa woundings
PA Gisborne Two men are in Wairoa Hospital recovering from shotgun wounds suffered in an incident at a Campbell Street house in Wairoa about 10 p.m. on Saturday. A police spokesman said he understood the men were not seriously injured. Few details were available last evening. No-one
had been arrested in connection with the incident and the police were still making inquiries. Last Monday Wairoa was the scene of violence when a brawl at the town’s community carnival left two men with stab wounds. A man who was not physically involved in that incident died at the scene after a heart attack.
