Complete sale of Angoras
PA Whangarei The complete offering of 67 two-tooth purebred Angora goats at Landcorp’s recent Waitangi Angora sale was sold, said Landcorp’s Whangarei branch farm manager, Mr Barry Dawson. Of 37 bucks sold, two reached a top price of $5OOO with the average price $1423. The average price for the does was $665, with a top price of $2200. Mr Dawson described the sale as “relaxed” and
said many breeders had attended in previous years. The offering at this year’s sale was smaller because Landcorp was absorbing much of its own stock for its Cashgora production and Angora breeding programmes, he said. “We are tending to sell commercial bucks by private treaty and keep the annual Waitangi Angora sale for premium animals,” Mr Dawson said.
