Antarctic vessel visited
The Soviet Antarctic research vessel Akademik Fedorov was visited yesterday by delegates to the Antarctic minerals regime conference in Wellington. It was built'in Finland a year ago and has been on its maiden voyage to the Soviet Union's seven research bases in Antarctica. It was in Wellington to take on supplies before returning to Antarctica and then going to its home port of Leningrad for the southern winter. The 180 scientists on board have been researching atmospheric conditions, the ice, and the oceans around Antarctica.
