Burglars target photographer
Lights- and cameras were stolen in a burglary of Prestige Photography in Christchurch on Tuesday night, in one of a series of puzzling breakins at branches throughout the country. The Prestige group’s general manager, Mr Chris Cooper, said he could only assume someone was trying to put the firm out of business. On the same night, two branches in Auckland were burgled and the Wellington branch was
also believed to have been entered. He said he was awaiting further details from the North Island. The value of property stolen from the Christchurch branch has been put at $6OOO to $7OOO. The offenders made off with a Nikon camera with a telephoto lens and a Mamiya 120 large-format camera. They also stole photographic lights with reflectors and stands.
