Gatting plans attack
NZPA-AAP ' Sydney The England captain, Mike Gatting, plans to utilise a double-pronged spin attack to counter Australia’s long time dominance at the S.C.G. in the Bicentennial test starting tomorrow. Gatting, who arrived with the England team from New Zealand on Tuesday, confirmed that the vicecaptain, John Emburey, and the veteran off-spinner, Eddie Hemmings, would both play on a wicket that has given Australian spinners considerable help over the years. The Australian selectors are certain to include the New South Welshman, Peter Taylor, and the South Australian leggie, Peter Sleep, in their starting line-up.
