Cultural tour of N.Z.
PA Wellington The African National Congress 30-member cultural ensemble will tour New Zealand for two weeks in April. The company of dancers, musicians, actors and singers draws on South African jazz, the guitar-based popular music of Soweto, traditional tribal dances, the leg-slapping and breakdancing of modern townships and chanting and choral singing styles. The tour is presented in association with the Africa Information Centre (N.Z.) and the African National Congress Support Committee (Australia). A total of eight performances will be given in Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch.
