Briggs leads yachting
The young Charteris Bay skipper, Neil Briggs, mastered the light easterly conditions to score his second win in the Graham Mander P class yachting championships on the Estuary yesterday. Briggs pinned back Mathew Stechman on the windward leg, after Stechman led throughout the first triangle, and sailed on to win by 50s from Alister Rowlands in Barnacle. Briggs leads the championship over all, after three races. Results: Race three: Tiki Tak Two (N. Briggs) 1, Barnacle (A. Rowlands) 2, Echo (M. Stechman) 3, Aphrodite (M. Bloomfield) 4.
