Alloy wheels on new BMWs
BMW New Zealand, Ltd, is meeting the challenge of local car assemblers’ and importers’ price cuts by offering its 1988 3-Series cars fitted with alloy wheels and finished in metallic paint at basic model prices. In the past, alloy wheels
and metallic paintwork have been listed as extra cost options, totalling about $3500. Geoff Fletcher, managing director of BMW New Zealand, Ltd, claims that his company is pursuing its police of continually
upgrading its cars by offering them with high specifications in the local market, although some industry observers will interpret the move as the opening of yet another avenue calculated to, in this particular case, offset price cuts.
