Golf representatives
PA Whangarei Philip Aickin of Auckland and Owen Kendall of Bay of Plenty will represent New-Zealand in the annual 72hole Riversdale Cup tournament in Northern Victoria, Australia, from March 11 to 14. 'This was announced in Whangarei yesterday by Goldie Wardell, the chairman of the New Zealand Golf Association’s selection committee.
Mr Wardell also announced that the association had invited and would pay the expenses for five players to attend the South Island championships at Cromwell on February 27 and 28. The five are Kendall, Kevin Billington (Northland), Geoff Stephens (Auckland), Glenn Goldfinch (Auckland) and Mark Berthelsen (Tasman).
