Nyhan drives double winners
Denis Nyhan drove the winners of the T.A.B. double, at Addington Raceway last evening, when another of his catch-drives, That’s That, wore down the pacemaking Dream Lustre by a half a neck in the second leg, the Queenstown Park Royal Mobile Pace. Substituting for the suspended trainer-driver of That’s That, Robert Dunn, Nyhan gained his third win for the season. Nyhan has obliged by handling members of Dunn’s team on various other occasions having won the Mercer Mile at Addington with Lyndon Robert in a record 1:58.9 five years ago. That’s That, last successful five starts ago in the Methven Cup in September, was having his first start since December 26, when sixth in the Asburton Cup, last evening. He paced the mobile 2600 m in a smart 3:19.61, the leaders sprinting home their closing 800 m in 57.65. That’s That had sped
out early to lead before giving the lead to Dream Lustre over the opening 400 m in 28.95. Speedy Cheval, which settled back on the outer and was still back and wide turning for home, ran on late for third and had to be straightened on two occasions by driver Colin de Filippi in the run home.
