Davies nets trophy
Michael Davies, of Templeton Golf Club, has won the Winstone regional coaching school trophy held quarterly. The school, run by the New Zealand Golfing Foundation, had 20 pupils for the week-end course. The pupils were chosen from Canterbury and South Canterbury. Davies’ winning net score was 89-25-64. Other results from the course which brought most pupils’ handicap down four shots, were: Best net, boys: A. Galbrath (Coringa) 95-30-65, J. Leary (Geraldine) 75-8-67, B. Heslop (Templeton) 88-20-68, R. Stills (Tinwald) 76-7-69 by lot from S. Oberg (Windsor) 85-16-69. Best net girls: R. Erceg (Hanmer) 114-36-78, D. Trumper (Raiapoi) 120-36-84. Boys’ gross: J. Danielson (Tinwald) 75-4-71.
