Funboard racing postponed

No racing was possible in the New Zealand funboard championships at Lake Ellesmere yesterday because of a lack of strong winds. The championships, being held in conjunction with the Rheineck boardsailing series, must be held over a minimum of four rounds. Two rounds were sailed on Thursday. The organisers plan to race the final two races today and tomorrow. Competitors waited until late in the afternoon on Thursday for the minimum 13 knots of wind on the lake.

Fifty-six skippers have registered for the championships in the open, production and social classes.
