Third place to Canty
Canterbury took third place in the under-16 New Zealand girls’ softball tournament in Hutt Valley which finished yesterday. In its first game yesterday morning, Canterbury beat South Canterbury 131. Sharon Patu scored a home run and Rachael Tibble batted with a .666. Canterbury went through to the semi-finals after finishing second in section B. But Hawke’s Bay subdued the young side 5-4. In the final, Hutt Valley beat Hawke’s Bay 6-5.
