Davison busy

Grant Davison begins a busy round of meetings by riding at his lightest weight for some time when he' takes the mount on Danseuse Royale in the Wrightson, Handicap at Trentham tomorrow. The mare, which looks certain to sprint well freshened, has just 50kg, two kilograms above what Davison normally regards as his best riding weight. However he will be riding Deerstalker, Danseuse Royale’s stablemate, at 50.5 kg in the Jarden Mile on the last day. “I could have ridden 51kg at the Coast, so tomorrow’s weight will be no problem,” Davison said. He has also been engaged for Serestrina in the Wellington Stakes. Davison will ride at Manawatu on Monday and go to Gore on Tuesday to ride his Oaks mount Ultra Sound in the Gore Guineas.
