Painting sold
A painting by the French impressionist, Edgar Degas, fetched a record £7.4 million (S2IM), at auction. The auctioneers said the price showed the international art market remained buoyant. “Les Bianchisseuses," bought anonymously at a record price for a Degas, had been expected to fetch no more than £6M. —London.
