Stop-work talks for teachers
All Christchurch State and integrated secondary schools will be closed on Monday morning as teachers hold stop-work meetings to decide further action after the break-down in their salary claim. The stop-work meeting, at Cashmere High School, will begin at 8.30 a.m. and should take about two hours, according to
the regional chairwoman of the Post-Primary Teachers’ Association, Ms Theresa Shaughnessy. All schools are expected to be open again after lunch, and some could be open sooner, she said. In North Canterbury, stop-work meetings will be held on the Monday afternoon.
