H.P. falls 2.9 per cent
Hire purchase advances fell 2.9 per cent, or SI2M, to $402.1M in the quarter to September 30 when compared with the same quarter last year. The largest fall occurred in advances for household and personal goods, which totalled SIOO.BM, a drop of $13.5M or 11.8 per cent. The value of advances for cars, motor cycles, and caravans fell 4.3 per cent, but the value of advances for motor buses, trucks and tractors rose 13.4 per cent.
