Cell fire inquiry
PA . Palmerston North The Palmerston North police have begun an inquiry into a fire in the city’s police station cells last Friday night. Three policemen, who were overcome by smoke inhalation and were admitted to hospital for observation, were back at work yesterday. Three women prisoners had to be released from the women’s cell at the station where the fire began in a foam mattress Two of the women were treated and discharged from hospital.
