Nuclear war
Sir,—l am one of nearly 30 people who stayed after the screening of the film “The Journey” (November 19) to discuss future action. We decided to write to various members of Parliament urging them to view it; and to push for one day's share (82.4 M of New Zealand's defence budget to be put into community education for prevention of nuclear war. Many of the more than 100 people who watched part or all of the film will join in action to promote its showing more widely, such as with P.T.As, the W.E.A. and other educational and social groups. The pace of “The Journey” gives the audience time to absorb and reflect on the tacts and opinions expressed, but It is not for the mentally lazy, passive viewer. The value gained is in proportion to the thinking put into its viewing. “The Journey 8 is a challenge to watch — and also a challenge to action. — Yours, etc., r W;‘ JlklET R. ADAMS. < November 19, 1987.
