Strong challenges withstood
Riccarton and St Albans withstood strong challenges from Sydenham and Lancaster Park respectively to record wins in women’s senior club cricket at Porritt Park on Saturday. The well prepared wickets produced a feast of runs, St Albans rattling on 199 in its 60 overs against Park. After losing two early wickets Klrsty Bond and Brlglt Legg featured in a fine 105 run partnership. With the fall of
Bond's wicket Ann McKenna maintained the scoring rate with 31 quick runs. The Park owners. Nlcki Turner and Jenny Otoen, were In fine touch, making a 100 partnership for the first wicket. For the second successive week Turner finished on 96 not out but even her efforts could not keep Park up with the required run rate.
