Owls in final

Having to beat Owls earlier this week to get to the final in the Canterbury Ice Hockey Association championship, Flyers pulled out all the stops and beat the Owls 7-4. Flyers went into the game with their backs to the wall facing elimination in the event of an Owls win. Graham Scott and Steve Fahey worked well under the pressure, combining for five of the seven goals.

In the third period there was a furious display of end to end skating by both teams, resulting in several breakaway scoring chances. The championship final will be decided in what should be the match of the season this evening. Flyers will play the Owls again for the title and both teams will be hungry to have its name on the C.I.H.A. cup, neither having won the title for several years.
