Final addresses on expressway to begin
Final addresses in the Planning Tribunal hearing over the disputed northern arterial expressway will begin next week. The hearing's tenth day concluded with the evidence of Mr Kenneth Ackley, a Canterbury University senior lecturer in planning. claimed the Christchurch City Council’s district scheme did not support an arterial route through St Albans. He referred to scheme clauses and explained the contrasts construction of the expressway would create. Mr Ackley said nearly 30 clauses would be “conflicting and inconsistent” if the road went ahead.
