TAUPO GENERAL HOSPITAL STAFF OCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST . THIS POSITION involves work with inpatients, outpatients and day patients. Currently the hospital has a busy Inpatient caseload, with assessment, remedial treatment and rehabilitation of a wide variety of medical and surgical cases, both short and long stay. A number of geriatric longstay patients receive regular maintenance treatment. • t ■ yT . Outpatients are treated as required and a domiciliary service is provided. ’ ' There is an established paediatric service, working with a number of other community-based personnel, at present approximately 5 hours per week but with potential for expansion to 10-15 hours. The Imminent establishment of a regular psychiatric clinic will provide an opportunity to further develop Occupational Therapy services, for approximately 20 hours per week. A Day Care Centre for primarily geriatric members of the community operates dally. Staff establishment is for one full and one parttime therapist. It is expected the full-time therapist’s prime work areas will be psychiatric, paediatric and some Inpatient assessment and treatment. SALARY: $21,009/826,750.
