f KINGDOM OF TONGA Chief Architect On behalf of the Government of Tonga we invite a pplications for this senior appointment with a two year contract. The position is based in Nukualofa and will involve some travel to the various islands making up the Kingdom of Tonga. The Chief Architect is responsible for the co-ordination of the activities of the Building Division of the Ministry of Works and advises on the construction and maintenance of all public buildings in the Kingdom. The preparation of the Government Building programme, the oversight of consultants' commissions and the development of professional Building Division staff are amongst the key functions of the position. Candidates should be experienced Registered Architects. The conditions applying to this appointment include a salary in the vicinity of NZ556,000 p.a. which is largely tax free; housing at moderate rental; employer superannuation contributions maintained; allowances for children remaining in school in New Zealand with holiday travel to Tonga. Special conditions of release will apply to an appointee from the New Zealand Public Service.
