Countrywide float
Countrywide’s $17,820,000 share float closed yesterday oversubscribed. A total of 19,800,000 shares at 90c in the new banking corporation were on offer to Countrywide’s members and depositors. The chief executive, Mr Peter Martin, said it was an excellent result, in view of the downturn in the sharemarket. The basis for any scaling of oversubscriptions is yet to be determined and subscribers will be advised of their allocation as soon as possible. Applications sent and postmarked Friday will still be accepted on Monday, November 23, 1987. It is expected that Share Certificates will be mailed out in early December and Stock Exchange listing is expected mid-December.
