Women in police
Wellington reporter The number of women applying to join the police has increased slightly. < In March this year the ; v co-ordinator of recruiting publicised the shortage of ! women wanting to join the ' police and urged women ;
to consider the police service as a career. In 1986, 44 women were chosen for police training and in 1987 there were 45. The Minister of Police, Mr Tapsell, said there were 60 women applicants for police training in 1988.
