Vandalism at school solved
Queenspark School in Parklands has suffered no vandalism since the problem was highlighted in “The Press” three weeks ago.
The school is on the lOha Parklands reserve and its facilities and playing fields are available outside school hours for public use. However, three weeks ago the school’s principal, Mr Dick Connolly, was left pondering the merits of the “open school” policy after six acts of vandalism during one week-end.
“The feedback has been very positive,” said Mr Connolly. Several local residents have offered to walk round the school in a bid to combat the problem. “Four other school committees and staff have come to me,” he said.
“People have said to me, ‘Look we will keep an extra eye on the school. We will walk round the school at different times and keep an eye on the people and what is going on’.y ,
