Just A Star in good order

Special correspondent

Palmerston North Just A Star, which goes north this week for the Auckland Thoroughbred Breeders’ Stakes, looked in good order at Woodville yesterday morning. The Star Way mare, which finished third in last week’s Highview Metric Miles, will be ridden by Jim Walker tomorrow. She may stay in the north for the Lion Red Stakes if the tracks remain wet

On the inside grass, which was easy, Just A Star completed 800 m in 51.35, the last 600 m in 39.35. She was travelling

easily all the way.

Corkage and Uncomplicated were travelling well at the end of 800 m in 48.45, the last 600 m in 36.75. A likely type, Corkage makes his debut in the Reke Reke Maiden at Otaki tomorrow with Noel Harris the rider. Secret Seal strode out well over two rounds on the sand. He continues to do well for Jeff Lynds, who is likely to line him up at New Plymouth on October 3, a couple of days before he is booked on a flight to Australia.

Secret Seal will be based at Mornington during his Melbourne campaign.
