Canterbury boxing identity dies
Ewan McKaskell, known especially for bis contributions to boxing in Canterbury, has died. Mr McKaskell was the timekeeper for boxing bouts in the province for many years. He made a name for himself in cycling in the 19305. He was particularly known as a track and short-distance rider, being a quick sprinter.
Several heart attacks prevented Mr McKaskell competing in sporting events but he continued his participation as an official for many years.
