N.Z. Post

Sir,— M. Anderson (September II) is fortunate that after 10 months a letter was actually received; but may be more than fortunate if a reply is received to a letter to NX Post I cannot accept the assurance by Mr P. J. Burke, assistant manager of N.Z. Post of the rarity of the mishandling of inquiries by N.Z. Post A .. registered letter was posted to me at the Penrose Post Office on December 30, 1986. It has never reached me and all I have is an apology for the loss. My inquiries in writing concerning compensation have been ignored and my letters to N.Z. post in Christchurch of February 16 and May 26 and to Onehunga on August 28 remain unanswered. Apart from the lack of courtesy and businesslike dealing with my correspondence, I have also learned of the apparent futility of registering important mail. — Yours, etc. B. COLLINS.
