Rugby invitation
Canterbury has been invited to compete in the A.G.C. South Pacific rugby championships for the third year in a row next year and expects to take part, according to the Canterbury Rugby Football Union chairman, Les Russell, yesterday. The competition is organised from Australia and a New South Wales
Rugby Union official was yesterday reported as saying Canterbury’s poor form this season could put its future in the competition in doubt Canterbury shared the competition title with Auckland this year. The South Pacific competition is played among ttyee provincial New Zealand sides, two Australian state teams and Fiji.
