Walker ponders offer
PA Wellington A top Italian track-and-field club based in Milan bas offered the Kiwi athlete, John Walker, a lucrative contract to coach juniors, the “New Zealand Herald” reported yesterday. The club, which was not named, wants the former middle-distance champion to coach prom-
ising teenagers for the 1500 m event Walker said from London that a very "lucrative contract” had been offered. The initial approach had been made in June. Accepting the contract would mean living in Milan. However, Walker has reservations about taking
up the offer after impressive results in European track meets recently. "There is a lot to consider, I really want to run at next year’s Olympics. After seeing the results over here this year I realise what I could do .in Seoul,” he said. .• T''-'' /■
