Winning combination
A combined team from the High School Old Boys club and the Burnside women’s club won the A-grade section of the Harewood Hockey Club’s Liquorland mixed tournament at Nunweek Park. A record entry of 30 teams played in the tenth annual tournament, opened by the chairwoman of the Waimalri District, Council, Mrs Mar-
garet Murray. The first tournament 10 years ago attracted 10 teams. Over the two days 135 24minute games were played on six grounds in three pools. Kaiapoi-Hinemoa won the B grade, and Harewood the C grade. The team spirit trophy was won by West Melton in pool B, which also won the Liquorland Trophy, awarded for team spirit and over-all performance. • -
