New cells planned
PA Wellington The Government has given approval to call tenders for the building of 28 new cells at Manawatu Prison for completion late next year. ; The planned block was part of an ongoing programme for building and improving prison facilities, said the Associate Minister of Justice, Mr Woollaston. In the light of high prison numbers, the new block would be a timely addition to the prison system, he said. ;
