Kitchen specialists build on early success in Chch with array of services
The building industry has seen many changes over the last few years. Today’s home builder or renovator is in a very fortunate position to benefit from these new methods and materials. Each part of a house is now divided into various areas and the kitchen would be an excellent example of this.
In Christchurch the first kitchen specialist to. offer a kitchen design service was lan Johnstone Ltd,
the joinery firm which manufactures “Cashmere Kitchens.” This company, which has been in business for many years, has gained a reputation for quality and service. The “Cashmere Kitchen” section of the business has been very successful. Recently the Christchurch City Council chose a “Cashmere Kitchen” for the new Municipal Electricity Department (M.E.D.) Showroom. This kitchen is used for cooking and product demon-
strations, and is also available for home science classes. When it comes to joinery for food preparation, lan Johnstone Ltd is proving to be a popular choice, not only on the residential scene, but also for commercial installations. In December 1986 the company manufactured joinery for the Kentucky Fried Chicken complex in Riccarton, Christchurch, and more recently has been manufacturing join-
ery for the new McDonalds outlets also in Christchurch, and the refurbishing of the Royal Hotel Nelson. lan Johnstone Ltd manufacture all types of joinery, which gives the “Cashmere Kitchen” client the opportunity to obtain any additional materials they may need. The company also manufactures the C.A. Slider (the door that slides into a wall), and is an agent for the Shugg Window.
